Not going to lie about this one...
I was a little worried about it not turning out good...
but I was pleasantly SURPRISED!
yep!
I had to give myself a pat on the back for this one
:-D
I made a dollar store {dollar tree to be more exact} flower corsage.
I decided to make a corsage because lets face it-
HELLO! Its corsage season!
Prom, weddings, mother's day, Easter.... so on...
you name it!
And I really LOVE how it turned out.
It is very simple and classy.
Not a loud crazy one that makes you look like you are growing mold out of your chest...
You know what I mean....
ha! ok on that note
Let's get started!
Here are your supplies that you will need:
-dollar store flowers {dollar tree}
{I used 3 flowers from the bouquet}
-scissors
-felt {dollar tree}
-hot glue gun {yuck! look at my glue gun! ewwwww}
-glue stick
-needle and thread
-button or embellishment {I used 3 taupe fabric covered buttons. Turned out great!}
-pin
pick out the flowers that you want and pull the flower part off of the bouquet
{I did not use the pink after all. It was a little too loud for me}
-Flip it over and pull off the plastic thingy {for lack of a better word :)} that holds it together
{You can set them aside and attach them back on there but I did not use them}
hand stitch you flower together
{I rearranged the petals a little bit to make the flower look better and I stitched some of them together as well to make them lie flatter}
After they are stitched, arrange the flowers how you want them to look in the finished product.
{Can you say WOH!? something was up with my camera or lighting or something... weird..}
Attach your buttons or embellishments and hot glue your flowers down the way that you want them.
{One way that helped me was to figure out which side I wanted to wear it on me. I wanted it on the right so I arranged it to frame my neckline. Does that make sense?}
Trim the felt around the flowers and hot glue the pin to the back.
{I did the pin toward the top so it will not flip over on you. Thats annoying when that happens.}
And this is what it came out like
Totally LOVE it!
And if you ask me...
I don't think it looks cheap AT ALL!
whoop whoop!
Like my husband's mad photography skills???
;)
Shyeah.... I feel weird....
I need to have a model on staff.....
ha!
Oh by the way...
You know how when you are a mom
-you are covered in food/drool/boogers
-you have not showered
-no make-up {Or 1 day old make-up in my case...don't judge me}
-you have 3 day old dirty hair???
My quick fix:
-pull your hair back in a pony tail
-apply LOTS of bronzer and LOTS of lip gloss
-put on a cute top {not pants though in my case... bahaha!}
-throw on a HUGE pair of shades to mask your raccoon eyes and dark circles
and BAM!
easy fix
....well for me anyway!
Hope you enjoyed!
