letter to Hudson

To my dear little Hudson-

I cannot believe that you will be 2 years old in one week. How time has flown.

(Hudson, 10 months)

You have always made me smile so much. I giggle at you all the time because you are so silly!
You have the bluest eyes and the blondest hair. Its getting a little darker, but that's ok. You will be perfect no matter what! You are definitely an oddity in our family considering your momma and Dada both have dark hair and dark eyes.

(In the car at wal-mart after having a bad hair cutting experience)

Some of your favorite things right now-
You love cars! Cars, cars, cars. actually anything with wheels. Trains, trucks... you name it. You are such a boy. Your grandma got you a melissa and doug vehicle puzzle (found here) for valentines day and that is your all time favorite toy. You are constantly bringing it to me all the time to help you put it together.
You love red suckers, yogurt, hot dogs, PIZZA, cookies... anything that little boys like really.
You LOVE it when momma and Dada cheer for you. You will randomly stand in the middle of the living room and clap your hands until we cheer for you. so cute!

Things you don't like-
Any other sippy cup besides your own. (sigh... anyone have any tips?)
Getting your hair cut... horrible experience every single time... ugh!
Going to the Dr. Most kids your age don't like this, but it usually takes 2-3 people to hold you down.... my goodness!
You HATE walmart! When we drive in the parking lot you flip out! (Just like daddy ;-).)

(Hudson and daddy eating cookies... doin' what they do best!)

You love your daddy so much. In fact you cuddle and sit on his lap way more than you do with momma. One of your favorite things you do with him is play angry birds on his phone with him. (oh, brother...) Even though you are such a mommas boy- you listen to him way more than you do momma.... :-/

Mommy loves you so much! I know that when your baby sister comes (in about 8 weeks.... still yet to be named) I will love her so much. And I know that I will love you the same, but differently like all mothers say, but I still can't imagine having so much love for someone other than you little man. You give the sweetest kisses and hold mommas hand so sweet.

(Hudson after going to the Dr. for an ear infection :-(.)

You have a smile that melts my heart. And boy! Are you a little camera ham! Every time momma takes a picture of you- you have to be front and center with the cutest cheesiest smile. Even when your not feeling well you still are so sweet. (Most of the time...)

(Hudson august 2011)

You are seeing a speech therapist right now. You still don't say too many words, but have improved SO much from when you started.
Some of the things that your speech pathologist was concerned about:
(at 17 months) you were not looking at mommy and daddy in eyes
You were not pointing at things you needed or showed interest in.
You didn't use toys for their intended purpose.
You didn't pretend play.
You didn't show momma and Dada your needs.
You didn't follow directions well and didn't respond to your name hardly at all.

(NOW with help and prayer)

Things you are doing now:
You point all the time at things. ESPECIALLY at candy! haha!
You play with blocks, cars, trucks... so many toys!
You play pretend now much more. You have 2 favorite stuffed animals that we call your "babies" that you give snacks to and play with all the time.
You take mommas hand and take her to what you need all the time. Especially when you want to go outside.
You follow directions so much better now, sometimes you need a little more guidance, but are doing much better. You don't like the word "no" very much, but respond to it all the time now. When its nap time or bedtime, momma says, "lets go night night!" and you run up to your room to go to sleep. (Your usually up there a little while before you actually go to sleep, but you go up there on your own.)

Momma is so proud of you at how far you have come in the past few months!
Your word that you use the most is "bye bye".

You are not really "potty trained" per say, but you do go on the potty every day. Momma hasn't quite figured out how to get it down with you since you don't say "pee pee" or "poo poo" quite yet. But you are so proud of yourself when you do. You look down and smile so big and clap. Its priceless!

(Hudson found the guacamole...)

Oh... how can I forget.... you LOVE guacamole! Seriously! Its pretty much the only vegetable that you will eat. You crack me up!

You are so so so silly! I cannot wait until you start talking more so I can see your little personality shine through. You are an amazing gift that God has blessed us with. I wouldn't have picked anyone else!

"Every good and perfect gift is from above..."
-James 1:17

Momma loves you so much my little mister Hudson.

chicks love super heroes

Chicks love super heroes.... and super cute boys with red suckers. :-)
Is he not the cutest little guy EVER! Every time I see this picture it makes me giggle!
Any time I have a camera around this kid he is such a ham!

He will be 2 in 12 days... yep! 2. I cannot believe that almost 2 years ago they placed this sweet little baby boy in my arms... and he is no longer a baby anymore. He is a toddler. (I still say he is my baby though.)

Just wanted to share a SUPER cute picture with everyone on this special day.

Happy Valentine's Day!

New year.... New you resolutions!

Here are my New year's resolutions... errrrr.... about 17 days late... hey! better late than never! ;-)

I really wanted to blog about them to keep myself accountable. And so YOU can too!

Before I start I want to warn you that I have several. That may seem to put me up for failure, but I really feel like a different person. Not just these past 17 days. Its probably been a progression over a few months. My priorities have changed pretty much. I don't know how else to explain it.

Here they are:

- Be healthier in general. (I am pretty pregnant right now so I am trying as hard as I can with this!)

- Be happier to be around. (Nobody likes a Debbie downer right? I have always struggled with letting circumstances effect my attitude.)

- Read more books. (I have already read 2 this year so far! That's the most that I have read in a few years!)

- Read and memorize more scripture.

- Do a daily devotional with the family/husband. (This is hard when days are so busy. What I tell myself is, "Do at least 5 minutes." Its always longer than that, but that will make you sit down and do it.)

I am know I am probably leaving out several that I wish to conquer, but here are my top 2

- Be a better wife.

- Be a better mom.

(Not that I am saying that I am a bad one or anything. LOL! I just want to look back on my life and know that I did everything possible for my husband and children.)

What are some of your resolutions?

Here is an update picture of Mr. Hudson. He is getting so big! I cannot beleive he is going to be 2 in a little over a month! He's in his Buzz Lightyear pj's. :-)

Guess what else.... My due date is April 18th!

Only 3 more months and we will see our precious new little sugar cookie!!!!

Hudson's 2nd birthday party ideas via pinterest

I am so sad that my baby boy, Hudson, is going to be 2 in February.... :-(
But he is only going to be 2 once and this will be his last birthday party with him being the baby so I would love to make it BIG without having a BIG budget! (Probably easier said than done yes?)

This year my husband and I chose to do a car themed birthday party for him. (Just like transportation, not Cars the movie) The kid LOVES cars! Seriously! His favorite toys. His favorite noise for us to make is "vroom vroom!". He is a total boy for sure.

Here are some ideas I found on pinterest:

Love everything about this party. Especially the red and white striped fabric incorporated.

She also made these for party favors for the kids to take home. I am definitely making these!

This table scape is AMAZING!

Love the labels and car paper garland.

I for sure want to make these SUPER cute cookies!

This next one is actually for a motorcycle themed birthday party, but I still love all the details. (oh, and everything about her blog!)

If any of you have any good ideas I would love for you to share them with me! Do you have a blog that you have shared your parties on? Doesn't even have to be a car themed birthday party. I love to see any party!

Have a great Wednesday!

pregnancy ramblings

This pregnancy has been so much different than my first (Hudson) so I thought, "Man... I better document some of this weird crap that is going on with my body and mind so I can laugh about it later.".... Seriously... that's what I really thought! All of this came up in my mind while I was trying fighting to take a nap. So here goes some SUPER crazy pregnancy, hormonal randomness!

I am watching this movie while typing up this post right now-

Have you seen it yet!? HI-larious. I can't give it away, but there are parts in the movie I thought I was going to die from laughing so hard. You know Ryan Gossling is super hot in this movie, but ... I gotta give it to you Steve- you look pretty cute in this movie too. Not as cute as my man though eh-hem!

Biggest pregnancy craving I have right now-
Yep. Orange juice. I love thee.
Actually, I would love a glass right now... mmmm.....

Do you watch the X factor? I know, I know. I don't normally get sucked into shows like these, but this season has been amazing. And it is so much different than American Idol. I can't explain why though. Its almost like you learn more about the contestants and it becomes more personal. Mine and my husbands favorite, Chris Rene, (go ahead- google him. amazing story! Has so many hits on his first youtube video it is insane!) is in the top 5 and I am almost willing to bet that he will win the whole thing. I mean, if he doesn't win I will pay him to play at Hudson's 2nd birthday party.... ok, ok... not 5 million dollars... I was thinking more like $25.... Ok enough of this rambling! Please watch this song that he wrote and its my husband's and I's new song (nope, you can't have it! already called dibs!)

I vote for him every week! And yes, I am a nerd! :-D

My son has all of a sudden become obsessed with my baby bump. Which is so cute. If you know him though, he is a little rowdy. Not scary rowdy like punch you in the face or anything like that. He is just a busy busy boy. He'll be sitting on my lap and we'll be going over his face and other things. You know like, "Mouth, nose.... " and he will point to mine and his. Well when we get to belly button he used to lift up my shirt and smack my belly. Funny, but not so cute anymore. So now I say, "Soft Hudson, soft. Be sweet to baby." And I show him to be sweet. It has came back to bite me in the butt now.... Every time he hears the word, "soft" or "baby" even while in public he will lift up my shirt..... awkwaaaaaaard......

I wish I can make my hormones be more crafty... that sounds so weird I know. I usually am CONSTANTLY wanting to make something and I can NOT get myself motivated at all. :-( When I see all these crafty pregnant mommy bloggers I think, "what the heck? I cannot get myself that motivated." Then I cry... then I eat.... totally kidding.... or maybe I'm not.... hmmmmm

Have a great Thursday!

Things i NEED to make from pinterest

You ever feel like you need to make a board on pinterest for what you should REALLY make that you see on there!?...... yeah me too! ;-) I pin sooooo much and have yet to make one.single.thing. that I have pinned on there. Am I the only one? Say it isn't so???!!! (This is so funny because while I am typing this I am pinning.... bahahahaha!)

Here are some things that I wanna make this week- (I might be getting in a little over my head, but I need to squeeze in as much craft time as I can before baby girl is born :-).)

I need to make some burp cloths for baby girl and friends that are expecting as well

oh.my.goodness. holy ruffles! I would love to have this as a full duvet cover, but I don't really like the idea of slaving away for hours on my sewing machine. (I probably will not get this finished this week... a girl can dream though right?)

I really want to do a whole tree out of book page ornaments. So simple yet classic. you know?

Like these-

or this-

Wanting to get started on baby girls room so I want to make these SUPER easy pom poms for over her crib. I might make some to hang in the house for Christmas as well.

I am soooo making some of these! One for myself and some for friends and family for Christmas presents. A-mazing! (If you are one of my friends that receives this as a gift- please act surprised :-).)

I might be getting myself in over my head this week, but I am sure going to try. I was thinking about doing a (gasp!) a vlog about the things that I make every week. Yes, in all my scary, pregnant glory! :-D
We'll see how it goes this week ...

Anything special that you are going to make? I would love to know and see!

It's a........

GIRL!

And let me tell you... we could not be more EXCITED!

The day I had my ultrasound to find out the gender, we brought both of our boys in Ryan and Hudson (Yes, I took my 20 month old kid in there and no, I don't recommend it... ha!). It was so amazing that we got to bring Ryan with us because he lives with his mommy on the east coast and my Dr's appt worked out to where we had him at the same time.

So my husband having a boy and us together having a boy already.... you can see what we were hoping for in gender. :-D I convinced myself the day of..... "ok jill... you're having a boy.... you are... just admit it." hahaha... yeah I am crazy like that. And truth be told, I would love my little precious baby NO MATTER WHAT!

So as I lay on the table waiting to see my little precious cargo.... I cannot contain my excitement.... My heart was beating so fast! The Dr. said, "well, there is only one in there.".... Wow. Never thought about that anyway... moving on. So then he said the question.... you know it... THE question. "Would you like to know the gender?" I said, "yes!" without any hesitation. He moved his mouse around on the screen and clicked the word, "girl". I looked at my husband with eyes filled with tears and smiled.  I could not believe it! My husband made a girl! ha! I would have been happy no matter what.... NO MATTER WHAT! I know that, just like my son and my husband son, God made them fearfully and wonderfully made. (Psalms 139:14)

Ok! enough of the gushiness!

If you follow me on pinterest (go ahead you know you want to :-).) then you know that I have pinning baby stuff like crazy. Nursery, girly stuff, picture ideas.... you name it. Here are some of my favorite nursery pins-

Make sure you click on the sources to look at more pictures of these AMAZING nurseries! These women are so talented!

Have a great weekend!
